To mark World Mental Health Day, Education International (EI), the Education and Solidarity Network ( ESN) and UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education will be co-organizing an online event to launch the 2nd edition of the International Barometer of Education Staff (I-BEST 2023).
Since 2021, the Education and Solidarity Network, in close collaboration with Education International and the UNESCO Chair in Education and Health, has been organizing an international survey on the health and well-being of education personnel. The aim of I-BEST is to raise awareness of the need to improve the health and well-being of education professionals for quality education worldwide. By analyzing issues related to their working conditions, their perception of their profession and their well-being, the Barometer aims to support national and international policies designed to promote the health and well-being of educational communities worldwide.
The survey questionnaire covers topics such as working conditions, physical and mental health, work-life balance and health experiences.
I-BEST is developed and implemented in collaboration with partners on all continents (often EI member organizations, as indicated). This year, eleven countries from all EI regions were involved: Argentina (CTERA), Belgium (CGSP-Enseignement & SEL-SETCa), Cameroon (CTIMA), Canada (CTF-FCE & CSQ), France (UNSA-Education), Japan (JTU), Morocco (SNE-FDT), Spain (FECCOO), Switzerland (SPV & SPG), and the UK (NASUWT).
The webinar will feature a high-level panel, including representatives from key international organizations focused on teacher well-being, to discuss the report’s findings and how to advance the well-being of education staff in the future.
