On 2, 3 and 4 October 2017 in Paris, the international symposium “Well-being in Education” was held with the support of the French Ministry of National Education and of Higher Education Research. With the environmental, social and economic challenges facing our society, it was necessary to insist “on the fact that there can be no education without physical and psychological safety and that the integration of well-being in education is essential”. The symposium was centred around three main areas:
- Theoretical and practical approaches to well-being in education
- Learning and well-being spaces
- The school environment and living together
The ESN was particularly interested in international perspectives on well-being in education and assisted in re-establishing various research and intervention projects carried out in Europe (France, Italy, Romania, UK), Latin America and West Africa. This gave them the opportunity to meet a very diverse set of international actors and open new opportunities for collaboration.
