As part of the collective programme for the development of education and social dialogue in Haiti (PROCEDH), an ESN mission was organised last June with the participation of UNIRéS (French network of universities for health education). The main objectives of this mission were to provide support to the members of the educational community in Port‑au‑Prince at the launch of health, citizenship and social protection education pilot committees (CESCPS) within six participating institutions (two high schools and four municipal schools) and to participate in land missions with other educational communities of the programme as well as with Franco‑Haitian steering committee of the PROCEDH.
On 15 and 16 June, 2017, the ESN and UNIRéS organised a two‑day seminar with the members of the CESCPS. At the programme: a photo-training around the concept of health, discussions on the conception of health promotion, working groups on the obstacles and levers for implementing the CESCPS in Haiti, etc. The two-day also allowed participants to identify priority themes from which to organize awareness-raising and health education activities at the start of the next school year.
This first ESN mission in Haiti was a great success thanks to the mobilisation of our local partners as well as Solidarié Laïque and UNIRéS.
